Figurative sculptural ceramics inspired by stories of the Shropshire landscape, where Sharon is based, with a focus on vulnerability, displacement and strength…. and a bit of folklore thrown in for good measure. Sharon sculpts the figure and the face using slabs of clay in an unconventional way, allowing the fast, gestural mark making to add to the energy of the work.
Sharon uses stoneware clays, slips, glazes and body stains to paint into the surfaces of the clay. Her work is exhibited in Europe and throughout the UK and is widely collected.
