GETTING HERE

By car
Free parking is available and stewards will direct you. The easiest approach is from the A64 or Ring Road, following signs to the racecourse through Bishopthorpe. You can also follow the brown signs from Tadcaster Road.

By train
York Station has frequent services from London, Edinburgh, Manchester, Birmingham and other major cities. It is a 30 minute walk or a 10 minute taxi to the racecourse.

By bus
Buses 12, 13, 840 and 843 run along Tadcaster Road. Alight at Mount Vale for a 15 minute walk. Bus 11 stops at Campleshon Road for a short walk to the Houghton Building entrance.

By taxi
Taxis are available from the city centre and the station. Journey time is around 10 minutes.

On foot or by cycle
The racecourse is a 30 minute walk or a 10 minute cycle from the city centre. Cycle racks are available on site.

ACCESSIBILITY

York Racecourse is fully accessible. Blue Badge parking is available near the Houghton Building entrance which has ramp access. For specific enquiries about disabled access please contact [email protected]

Visitors with assistance animals are welcome. Animals must remain harnessed, leashed or tethered unless this affects their work. Contact us with any questions.

 

FOOD AND DRINK

The venue is spacious. Tickets are issued for before 1 pm and after 1 pm to help distribute arrival times. You may stay as long as you like.
