Ken & Val Shelton

Ken throws the pots on the wheel, burnishing them to produce a smooth surface for Val’s painting. Val paints freehand onto the bisque fired ceramic with underglaze colours; no stencils or transfers are used so each piece is unique. Valerie’s art demonstrates a combination of skilled brushwork and bold use of colour not often seen in ceramics.
