I enjoy the latent energy in thrown forms and the melting and blending of glaze that happens in the kiln.
My work is inspired by landscapes. I like the way that geological materials recreate themselves into depictions of landscape after firing.
I compress thrown cylinders to produce two broad surfaces and use white stoneware clay to enhance the colour in the glazes. I apply glaze by various techniques and in careful combinations learnt over time, always with a thirst for new exploration.
